Editorial standards

How RouterGuide pages are reviewed

Our editorial process prioritises useful steps, clear caveats, and safe local-router guidance over keyword repetition.

Our editorial priorities

  1. Answer the user’s immediate question early.
  2. Use plain language before technical terminology.
  3. Separate a common example from a guaranteed rule.
  4. Warn before destructive actions such as factory reset.
  5. Never ask a visitor to submit router credentials.

Research and verification

RouterGuide content is prepared by comparing the user problem, router and network terminology, device instructions, manufacturer context, and existing help patterns. Competitor pages may help identify user needs and gaps, but their wording, screenshots, tables, and layout are not copied.

Updates and corrections

Router details can differ by model, firmware, region, and ISP. Pages may be updated when a fact changes, a safer instruction becomes available, or a correction is supported by clear evidence. Pages may include a review note as the content system expands.

Use of assistance tools

Writing and code assistance may be used during preparation, but pages are reviewed for accuracy, safety, duplicate wording, broken links, and misleading universal claims before publication.

Independence

RouterGuide is not an official manufacturer or internet-provider support channel and should not be mistaken for one.
